God’s Truth Brings Comfort

Bible is not an instruction manual on how to go to Heaven. It’s a Book given to us by God through His servants, primarily meant to reveal Himself and His plan of redemption for the sinners. It’s only then that the Bible is meant as God’s law for redeemed sinners like us, to walk in the path of righteousness. In this passage, we learn how the Bible is also meant to bring us comfort.

Be Believing

Christian life is about learning to trust God simply because of His unfailing love towards us as His children, and also for God’s faithfulness in keeping promises throughout history. The reason why trusting and believing in God is essential for us to persevere in faith is because we’re incapable of handling circumstances and uncertainties in life by our own strength and wisdom. This passage shows us how we’re called to keep believing in God’s promises especially when the situation might appear unfavorable.

The Blessing Of Delighting In God’s Word

We live in a culture that speaks to us and influences our lives through songs, movies and other cultural entertainment. This kind of exposure is inevitable which often shapes our thinking and lifestyle in subtle ways. But Christian life is not designed to be lived under the influence of this world. In this passage, we learn what kind of pattern the Lord has set for us as Christians, and how we are called to live in accordance with His word, so that our lives are shaped by His counsel, and not by the culture.

The Word Of God

The Bible is authentic because it is ultimately an autobiography of God. It is the Lord God Himself who wrote this book. He has used human agents and inspired them through the Holy Spirit to pen down his thoughts, but it was ultimately His guidance and his hands (figurative sense) that completed all 66 books of the Bible.
